I am very excited to share this website with you. Storybird is an art inspired storytelling site. As the site states, “Storybird reverses the process of visual storytelling by starting with the image and “unlocking” the story inside. Choose an artist or a theme, get inspired, and start writing.” Since I am teaching a pre-k course I decided to try my hand at writing a story a teacher could use in a pre-k classroom.
The title of my story is
* Marci B. Mouse Learns About OPPOSITES

The website is very easy to use. The first time I visited the website I spent time just reading other people’s published “Storybirds.” The next time i visited the site, I looked at the tutorial, and then jumped right in. My students will be collaborating, and their first task will be to agree on a picture to use for their first page. As soon as they make that choice, they will be provided with a large selection of other artwork by that same artist. From there on, all they will need to do is just drag the picture they want to use onto the page. Then write about it. One word of advice is to register first, otherwise your storybird will not be saved!

I cannot wait to see all of the amazing stories that my students will create. If you have one you would like to share with my students, we would love to see it.
