Look familiar? Looks just like a Facebook page, but it is a Fakebook page about John F. Kennedy.  It is an online facebook style profile generator and students can create imaginary profile pages for educational purposes. As you can see from the diagram above, students can select a picture of the person, collect important information and facts about the person and put together a profile.

You can begin your lesson by having the students select someone from the unit you are studying.  Have them brainstorm all of the information they already know about that person. Have them think about the time period and who might be  friends with whom and why, and what they might all say to each other.  Students can use a graphic organizer to help them find additional information and help them plan their online research. Teachers would be wise to use give the students specific websites in advance to search for information. I would probably use this website with older students. I would even use this website in a high school English class and have students create fakebook pages for Romeo and Juliet or other characters you might be studying. If you would like to take a look at the website just click the icon.

If you have any ideas of how best to use this website, please leave a comment below.
